About Me

A little bit about your guide

Wild Within Alaska is run by Stephanie Cimmino. From guiding you on the trails and through your yoga practice to fishing alongside you and connecting around the fire, Stephanie is your host.

Stephanie has been a local resident of Ketchikan, Alaska since 2018. Originally from Florida, she built a thriving yoga business before deciding to move north. When she arrived in Alaska, she made it a point to slow down, deepen her personal practice, and fully soak in the region’s healing energy. Rather than immediately stepping into a teaching role, she chose to observe, learn, and immerse herself in the local culture to understand where she could be of genuine service within her newfound community.

Stephanie is an E-RYT200 yoga instructor rooted in the Ashtanga tradition, with a passion for the healing power of movement and mindfulness. She is currently enrolled in Kripalu’s 300-hour YTT program to obtain her RYT500 designation. Her work is deeply influenced by an interest in trauma and the ways it manifests in the body—so much so that she spent a week in Big Sur, CA studying with Dr. Bessel van der Kolk and other movement professionals to explore The Body Keeps the Score in depth.

In addition to hosting retreats, Stephanie provides 1:1 private yoga sessions, designed for those seeking personalized guidance, deeper alignment, or support in nervous system regulation and mindful movement.

By day, Stephanie puts her Master of Public Administration to work in the nonprofit sector, serving a social services organization that supports survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence in Ketchikan. This is her primary professional role, but Wild Within Alaska is the work that feeds her soul and sustains her ability to show up fully in that space.

This boutique retreat business is something Stephanie has always dreamed of building and something she is deeply committed to. It’s her way of weaving together everything she loves: Alaska, yoga, the outdoors, wildlife, and cultivating community with likeminded women focused on growth. Guiding others through these experiences reminds her why she calls this place home. Seeing someone’s eyes light up with that inner spark as they connect with the land, and themselves, fills her with gratitude and purpose.
